Membership Process

1. Sponsor Qualification and Validation: Sponsoring Member discusses Kettering with prospective Candidate and provides electronic copies of the following:

  • Sponsor Responsibilities
  • Membership Criteria
  • Kettering Mission and Core Values
  • Membership Process
2. Sponsor Review: Once the Prospect understands the Kettering organization and given adequate time to review and absorb the membership collateral, the Sponsor will review the Candidate’s resume, LinkedIn profile, and conduct a 1:1 discussion to confirm membership criteria is met.  At that time, the sponsor decides to nominate the prospect for membership and the remaining steps of the membership process are carried out.
3. Evaluate Kettering:  Guests must attend at least two Kettering Friday events and one SIG or Social event. A Guest must be registered prior to attending any Kettering event.  Questions regarding Guest Registrations can be directed to info@ketteringsuccess.org.

The Sponsor should make plans to accompany their Guest to their first Kettering event, serve as their host, and introduce them to fellow members.

4. Apply for Membership: After determining the Guest meets all membership qualifications, the nominating Sponsor will invite them to apply for membership.  The Sponsor will notify the Membership Chair by email to membership@ketteringexecutivenetwork.org and include the following:

  • Candidates Resume
  • Candidates LinkedIn Profile link
  • Completed Membership Criteria Validation Form
  • Candidates email address, LinkedIn address and any additional contact information
5. Complete Application: The Guest will receive an email from the Membership Chair inviting them to:

  • Complete the online application
  • Pay an application fee
  • Register for future Kettering Events on the Kettering website.

The Membership Chair will receive confirmation when the application is completed, and application fee is paid.

6. Conduct Interview:  The Membership Committee reviews Candidate’s application, validates qualifications, and arranges for a Member of the Membership Committee, a Board Member, or designated Kettering Member to conduct a Candidate interview.
7. Peer-to-Peer Vetting:  After a successful interview, the Membership Chair informs Kettering Sustaining Members the Candidate has been nominated for membership and solicits feedback.
8. Final Decision:  The Membership Committee reviews all interview feedback and makes the final membership decision for the Candidate.
9. Acceptance/Rejection Notification:

  • Acceptance:  Membership Chair will notify the Candidate via email and welcome the new Member to Kettering.
