We value each other, relationships built, experiences shared, and accountable partnerships formed

What Makes Kettering Special?

What is it that makes Kettering special? We think it is something we call the “The Kettering Experience.” This includes the Kettering Events and activities. It includes the great benefits and lasting friendships that comes from our special brand of Networking. But most members will tell you it mostly comes from the Kettering Pay-it-Forward culture which spans everything we do.

Pay it Forward

Fundamental to Kettering is “Pay it Forward.” But what does that really mean? To a Kettering Member this means at least three things:

  • Helping each other professionally. Kettering members make a commitment to helping other members however they can: through networking, introductions, advice and counsel and even doing business together. Kettering members make a promise to “always accept a call from another Kettering member.” And since Kettering Membership never expires, that call could come years in the future.
  • Engaging with Kettering in Community Partnerships such as Mentoring for Year Up Atlanta, and supporting this and other Kettering community support initiatives.
  • Demonstrating a Pay-it-Forward mindset in one’s personal life through active, engagement in activities that help others through financial support but also, especially, through personal action such as volunteer work.
Community Engagement
Networking & Professional Development

Kettering is dedicated to enabling professional and personal growth and networking opportunities to the Executive in all stages of the Executive Life Cycle. Whether employed traditionally full time, a business owner, a fractional executive or consultant, or in transition, the Kettering member can find formal (through speakers, events and SIGs) and informal (via networking) support to help them achieve their professional or personal goals.

The Friday Meeting

The core of the Kettering Experience is the Friday Morning meeting which provides great networking, engaging speakers and Kettering News and information about upcoming events and Pay it Forward opportunities. It is here where new members are introduced to the Kettering Community and where members make those connections that make Kettering unique.

Special Interest Groups

SIGs are a key part of the Kettering Experience. Kettering currently has nine SIGs focused on a variety of specialized areas of interest which generally meet monthly. For more information on the various SIGs, please click here.

Best in Class Speakers

Kettering has a solid track record of attracting a variety of engaging speakers for the spectrum of the Kettering experience. Speakers are a key element of our regular Friday meetings. Topics range from business-related to general interest, current affairs and Community / Pay-it-Forward subjects. Kettering also offers the “Executive Speaker Series” in partnership with the Buckhead Club, featuring in-demand speakers along with Networking and Breakfast with both Kettering and Buckhead Club members held once a month at the Buckhead Club. In addition, for 2022, Kettering has introduced the “Signature Speaker Series” which are periodic events featuring “extra-special” Speakers on a variety of topics. Finally, Special Interest Groups oftentimes invite Speakers to SIG events to speak on relevant topics of interest.

Kettering has impressed me with the caliber of senior-level leaders who happen to hold a pay-it-forward world view, a commitment to lifelong learning, and an ‘always available’ attitude.

I joined Kettering for the network but remain with Kettering for the business and personal relationships. Leveraging the Kettering network led me to a business partner and together we are delivering digital transformation solutions and technology innovations to our clients. It’s so rewarding to work alongside successful, talented, and collaborative Kettering executives.
